Thank you for your interest in the Wolverines Mountain Bike Team. Our team welcomes students in grades 6-12 from Woodstock High School and Woodstock and Freedom Middle Schools. There are no tryouts: everyone rides and/or races no matter his/her ability or skill level. The team is a member of and races in the Georgia Cycling Association however, racing is optional.

JOIN THE WOLVERINES
- Open to students in grades 6-12 from Woodstock High School, Woodstock and Freedom Middle Schools.
- No try-outs. We do ask that athletes be able to ride a bike without training wheels.
- Parents/students are responsible for equipment and providing transportation to/from all events.
- Season runs July 1st thru early November

PRACTICES
We practice together as a team alternating weekly between the Blankets Creek and Rope Mill mountain biking trails in Cherokee County. In addition, there will be “destination practices” at other trails within 1 hour drive on select weekend dates. Student-athletes practice together in ride groups based on skill level and fitness. Practices include both skills and fitness activities. All practice activities are coach supervised.
Monday & Thursday nights, 6:00 to 8:00pm. Times will adjust as days get shorter.
RACING
Racing is optional but encouraged! You will find the race environment to be highly supportive! Georgia Cycling holds four cross country races in the fall plus a championship race at the end of the season. All teams in Georgia participate in the same races. Student-athletes compete in grade/gender categories up through 9th grade. Above 9th grade there are performance/gender categories.
FEES EACH STUDENT PAYS
Georgia League Fee: $215. Includes insurance coverage, many substantial discounts from bike shops, bike manufacturers, equipment, clothing, and nutrition!
Team Fee: $175. This includes one race jersey, one practice tee, practices, destination rides, and end of season celebration. This is paid direct to the team.
Race Series Registration is optional
